FM Radio
The man on the radio doesn’t like
our people my father says to me as
he dies from the water in his lungs. An
officer says This isn’t our problem.
The doctor says Nothing could have been done
and, so, nothing was done as he died as
I turned from the window to face him, light
still dripping off of my face like milk. The
coroner says The drugs have took him.
I do nothing, I watch, and say Yes, yes,
in agreement, Not our people, not us.
