Closet of Overflowing Apologies
Today is a day
gray from clouds
to pavement—
the bees releasing
their stingers mark
the descension:
this is the rainy
season, the field of call
without response, era
of crumpled cans
confetting the sidewalk,
session of starvation, term
of polleness suffocation,
the long calendar
of laying, time
of littered window
boxes, season of
disregard for you.
